Sublingual versus swallowed

How you take a tincture changes how it behaves, which surprises people.

Held under the tongue for 60 to 90 seconds before swallowing, a portion is absorbed through the tissue in your mouth, and onset is usually 15 to 45 minutes. Swallowed straight away, or stirred into food or a drink, it is digested like an edible — onset stretches to 30 minutes to two hours and the effect lasts longer.

Neither is wrong. Just be consistent, because switching methods changes the timing you have learned to expect.

Dosing

Start low. A small measured dose, then wait a full two hours before deciding whether to take more. Because the dropper is marked, tinctures make it genuinely easy to increase in small, repeatable steps over several days rather than guessing.

Ratio products are worth understanding here. A 1:1 CBD:THC tincture contains equal parts of both cannabinoids; a 2:1 leans further toward CBD. Many customers report these feel less intense than THC-dominant products at a comparable THC dose.
